Kyle Busch’s Commitment to Family Despite On-Track Pressure

Kyle Busch, known widely both as a driver and a father, has not won a Cup Series race since June 2023 at World Wide Technology Raceway—a drought that marks the longest of his two-decade career. On the Certified Oversharer podcast, which Samantha launched in June, she was asked whether Kyle brings the stress of the racetrack home. Reflecting on the past two years’ difficulties, Samantha offered insight into their private life:

“For as hard as it’s been for you on the track the last two years, I feel like you’ve been an amazing father and husband.”

Kyle Busch responded by sharing his philosophy about resilience, emphasizing the lessons he tries to instill in their son, Brexton, who has already begun his own journey in racing:

“I appreciate that. I try. I mean, like we’ve been trying to teach Brexton, you’re going to have a whole hell of a lot more days that you’re going to lose than you’re ever going to win, and you’ve got to figure out how to deal with the losses,” Kyle Busch said.—Kyle Busch, Driver

Family Support Behind Brexton Busch’s Racing Success

Kyle and Samantha Busch, married since December 2010, are parents to Brexton, born in 2015, and their daughter Lennix Key, who joined the family in 2022. Brexton’s achievements on the track have served as a source of pride, with milestones like his first Bandolero Bandit win at Charlotte Motor Speedway and recently clinching the 2025 Tulsa Shootout Junior Sprint Championship.

Speaking about Brexton’s wintertime victory in Tulsa, Samantha recounted how their entire family contributed to supporting his efforts. She described how coordinating logistics and managing schedules, including taking care of their younger daughter Lennix, were all part of helping Brexton succeed.

“I think seeing him win the Tulsa shootout this past year, that was a really proud moment because he worked so hard. And I feel like as a family we worked hard for that, and even Lennix,” Samantha said during the same episode (24:45 onwards).—Samantha Busch, Entrepreneur & Podcaster

Looking Ahead: Potential for Redemption at Bristol

Despite not adding to his career Cup wins at short tracks like Bristol since 2019, Kyle Busch has eight more chances this season to return to the winner’s circle. The upcoming night race at Bristol Motor Speedway, set for September 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET, offers another opportunity for the Richard Childress Racing driver to snap his winless streak.

As Busch’s NASCAR drought stretches further, the steadfastness shown in his family life—championed by Samantha—offers a narrative of determination and support beyond the racetrack. With Brexton’s rise and Lennix’s presence adding to the family dynamic, the Buschs remain an example of resilience both in competition and at home, regardless of the outcome on Saturday nights.
