The First Showdown at Millbridge Speedway

Earlier this year, the father and son duo faced each other at Millbridge Speedway in North Carolina, competing in the 600cc Winged Micros class. Kyle Busch, already a major NASCAR Cup Series champion with 63 wins, finished third in the 20-lap main event, while nine-year-old Brexton secured a remarkable sixth place among 20 competitors. The pair battled closely on the track, with Kyle spending much of the race just ahead of his son as they vied for position.

When the race restarted late, Kyle surged into the top three and Brexton maintained his sixth-place finish despite a bump from another car. After the checkered flag waved, Kyle Busch highlighted his son’s impressive performance for his age, expressing pride in Brexton’s debut battle against him.

“It was cool. One of these days, we’ll get to battling it out and swapping back and forth, hopefully. But for a first-nighter, that’s definitely impressive for a 9-year-old to come on out here.”

Both drivers demonstrated strong pace throughout the event. Kyle qualified third and Brexton seventh, and their heat race results put them side by side for the start of the main feature. Kyle later admitted the night did not showcase his best effort, yet his pride in Brexton’s close racing and composure was clear. For Brexton, running door-to-door with his father in a high-stakes setting marked a significant step in his budding career.

Brexton Busch’s Early Successes Before Round Two

As excitement builds for their next faceoff in Las Vegas, Brexton Busch has already achieved a notable milestone—his first A-Class Micro win. Racing at US 24 Speedway on May 3, Brexton piloted his #18 Sprint to victory in the NOW600 A Wing Micros Concept Chassis event, crossing the finish just 0.022 seconds ahead of his nearest rival. Kyle Busch enthusiastically celebrated his son’s success, sharing Brexton’s post and commending his determination and racecraft.

In addition, he competed at Millbridge Speedway and Miami County Raceway, collecting results between fourth and fifteenth place, showcasing his versatility and resilience as a young driver.

Looking Ahead to the Las Vegas Duel

The father-son battle at Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s Bullring promises an exciting spectacle, attracting NASCAR enthusiasts and highlighting the generational passion that fuels the Busch racing legacy. The Kyle Busch father son race Las Vegas event is anticipated not only for its competitive spirit, but also as a showcase of youthful talent against seasoned experience. As the anticipation grows, fans and drivers alike are eager to see whether Brexton’s rapid progress will earn him victory over his accomplished father, or if Kyle will keep his winning record intact in this unique family showdown.
