Ross Chastain returns to Kansas Speedway this Sunday aiming to achieve another victory, as he looks to add to his notable 2024 Kansas win with Trackhouse Racing. With confidence in his team’s intermediate track performance, Chastain is focused on delivering another standout result at the venue.
Chastain’s Strong Record at Kansas and Recent Performance
Last season, Chastain impressed NASCAR fans with his drive at Kansas Speedway, seizing the lead from Martin Truex Jr. during the final restart on Lap 248 and narrowly holding off William Byron by 0.388 seconds to take the checkered flag. Despite missing the playoffs in 2023, the victory marked Chastain’s first triumph of that season, his debut Kansas win, and his fifth NASCAR Cup Series victory.
“I feel our intermediate program is the strongest for the No. 1 car out of the different types of tracks,” Ross Chastain said during a recent press-release. “I think if we can replicate how we ran at Kansas last year and Charlotte this year, that we’ll have a strong shot to win or definitely run inside the top-five.”
“We haven’t been able to do that at all of the mile-and-a-half tracks this year though. The little bit of a question mark going into Kansas is if we can replicate those races,” he added.
This season, Chastain secured his place in the playoffs with a victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May. As of now, he sits ninth in the playoff standings, trailing the cutoff line by 12 points. Throughout 30 races so far, the driver from Alva, Florida has earned three top-five finishes, 11 top-10s, and has a total of 3035 points to his name.
Trackhouse Racing: Team Developments and Future Teammates
Ross Chastain is in his fourth year driving for Trackhouse Racing, a team previously co-owned by musician Pitbull and known for fielding three Cup Series cars. The team is going through important changes, with indications that Daniel Suarez will depart at season’s end, opening a spot for Connor Zilisch to compete full-time. Additionally, Shane van Gisbergen, another teammate, is completing his rookie campaign with Trackhouse this year.
Longstanding Partnership with Moose Fraternity Continues
Chastain and Trackhouse Racing have extended their partnership with Moose Fraternity through 2027, continuing a sponsorship that began in 2020. Together, Ross Chastain and Moose Fraternity have celebrated numerous memorable moments, including his significant win at Talladega Superspeedway in 2022, which was Chastain’s second career victory in the NASCAR Cup Series.
“The Moose Fraternity has been with me at racetracks and taken me to lodges across the country,” Chastain said in a release. “They are salt of the earth, good people who I have watched give back to the community. I couldn’t be prouder to say I am, and my family are, members of Tice and the Shores, Florida Lodge 1297 within the Moose Fraternity.”
The Moose Fraternity is also an active presence during Chastain’s playoff appearances and will be featured again for the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville, extending their support at key races including Bristol.
What Chastain’s Kansas Ambition Means for the Team and Series
If Ross Chastain can capture a repeat Kansas win, it would further solidify Trackhouse Racing’s growing influence in the NASCAR Cup Series and boost Chastain’s own standing in the playoff chase. With competitors such as Martin Truex Jr., William Byron, Daniel Suarez, and newcomer Shane van Gisbergen also making headlines, the next race at Kansas Speedway marks an important moment for the team’s progression and for Chastain’s aspirations this season.
The ongoing partnership with Moose Fraternity and changes within Trackhouse Racing signal both continuity and fresh challenges for Chastain and his team. As the season reaches its decisive stages, all eyes are on Chastain’s pursuit of another Kansas success, which could shape not only the playoff outcome but also the future dynamics of Trackhouse Racing in NASCAR.
