Connor Zilisch, following a strong yet ultimately disappointing 2025 NASCAR season, is set to chase victory at the iconic Rolex 24 At Daytona next year with support from Jim France and Action Express Racing. This opportunity marks Zilisch’s entry into the headline race of the IMSA calendar, coming just ahead of his first full-time Cup season with Trackhouse Racing, and serves as a key motivational step after an intense racing year.

A New Chapter: From NASCAR Heartbreak to Daytona’s Grand Stage

The 2025 NASCAR season ended in frustration for Connor Zilisch as he narrowly missed the championship, placing behind Jesse Love in the second division. Despite 10 race wins marking a standout season, Zilisch enters 2026 eager for redemption and fresh challenges. Daytona Roots: Zilisch’s Early Racing Memories

Connor Zilisch, now representing Trackhouse Racing, fondly reflects on his introduction to Daytona International Speedway. His journey began in the Mazda MX-5 Cup, and his dedication to endurance racing was ignited by those first experiences. Since then, Zilisch has kept a close watch for opportunities to return to Daytona and prove himself in the prestigious Rolex 24 event, which holds a special place in his ambitions as a driver.

“The first time I came to Daytona racing was in (Mazda) MX-5 Cup, and I’ve loved it ever since and just being able to race in the 24 hours is something that I dreamed of as a kid, and that’s why I always come back and keep doing it.”
Connor Zilisch said.

This upcoming appearance marks his third endurance race at Daytona, with each attempt undertaken in a different car. Competing in the highest IMSA class is an aspiration that Zilisch has carried since childhood, growing up absorbed in road racing and the challenge of long-distance events.

“And, you know, it’s my third time doing it and my third different car that I’ve done it in. I’m just excited for the opportunity to even be here today and get this chance to test the car. It’s been such a dream of mine to get to drive in the highest class of IMSA, and doing that today has been really cool.”
