Piloting the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, Hill led 78 out of 120 laps, sweeping both race stages and finishing with a near-perfect 75-point score. His proficiency on superspeedways was once again in full display, as he captured his fourth win in Daytona’s traditional season opener over the last five years. This victory further solidifies Hill’s status as a standout driver in the series.
Packed Field and Notable Results
Defending series champion Allgaier crossed the finish line in second place, while Ryan Sieg, Jordan Anderson, and Sammy Smith rounded out the top five. Ryan Ellis achieved a personal milestone by claiming sixth, his best finish to date. The top 10 was completed by Carson Kvapil, Blaine Perkins, Jesse Love, and Rajah Caruth, each making a strong showing at Daytona.
Incidents Shape the Final Stage
The race’s closing segment was marked by a series of multi-car accidents that drastically altered the list of contenders. On Lap 93, contact between Jeb Burton and Ryan Sieg in Turns 1 and 2 triggered a chain-reaction crash, ending the race early for Sam Mayer, Brandon Jones, and Jeremy Clements. Though Sieg initially went a lap down, a sequence of late caution periods allowed him to return to the lead lap and claim a top-five finish.
Another significant incident occurred eight laps later, when Corey Day made contact with William Sawalich in Turns 3 and 4, spinning Sawalich and collecting several others, including Harrison Burton, Jeb Burton, Carson Hocevar, Lavar Scott, and Taylor Gray. These crashes significantly reduced the number of drivers in contention as the checkered flag approached.
