Keelan Harvick, age 13 and son of NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick, has secured a significant agreement with Toyota Racing Development, signaling a promising step forward in his Kevin Harvick NASCAR future. The announcement made Monday marks the third-generation racer’s entry into Toyota’s driver pipeline, positioning him for a potential rise through the ranks of NASCAR’s premier Cup Series.
Young Harvick Joins Toyota’s Driver Pipeline
Toyota Racing Development (TRD) officially welcomed Keelan Harvick, confirming plans for him to compete in numerous late-model races across the country during the 2026 motorsports season. Keelan, the youngest member of the Harvick family to make such a move, will drive the No. 62 Toyota Camry, backed by ExxonMobil as a primary sponsor for several events. The partnership involves the collaborative efforts of RACKLEY W.A.R. and Kevin Harvick, Inc., aligning generations of Harvick racing experience with Toyota’s resources.
Adam Stern stated,

Building a New Legacy While Honoring Family Roots
The move is notable, as Kevin Harvick himself spent his 23-year NASCAR Cup Series career competing for Chevrolet and Ford—never Toyota—before retiring after 63 race wins and a 2014 championship. Toyota’s approach to nurturing young racers, however, played an essential role in shaping this new direction for the family.

“We’ve concentrated a lot on development and have a theory on how it should go, and I felt like the Toyota process matched what we would do,”
Kevin Harvick explained.
“The effort that Toyota puts into, not only the driving piece of it, but the human piece of it is very important to us as a family.”
A Shift from International Racing to NASCAR Aspirations
Keelan’s racing path included a stint in European karting, but experiences at international events caused him to reconsider his direction. He recounted a chaotic karting event in Italy, attended by Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, which highlighted the overwhelming atmosphere of European motorsports.
“Charles Leclerc’s nephew raced on my team, and he came to watch the race and all the fans followed him there and they broke down the tent,”
Keelan recalled.
“There was like hundreds of people at a go-kart race just trying to meet him. It was just a lot of people and just not for me.”
The experience prompted Keelan to redirect his ambitions back to NASCAR, following in his father’s footsteps, stating,
“My main goal is to be just like my Dad and just try to make it to the Cup Series.”
Impressive Achievements at a Young Age
The teenager has already accumulated significant accolades within the U.S. racing scene. In December, Keelan became the youngest driver ever to claim victory at the Snowflake 125, held at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. He followed that with another historic win at Florence Motor Speedway’s Icebreaker in early February, not only capturing his first Late Model Stock Car triumph but also becoming the youngest to seize that title as well.
Keelan’s gratitude for his new journey was clear:
“I’m really grateful to have this kind of opportunity with Toyota Racing Development,”
Keelan said.
“To have their support and be able to represent ExxonMobil, it doesn’t get much better.”

Toyota’s Development Program and What Lies Ahead
By joining the Toyota Driver Development program, Keelan Harvick follows a path that has brought other notable talents, such as Christopher Bell, Corey Heim, and John Hunter Nemechek, into NASCAR’s top tier. For the Harvick family, the chance to combine developmental expertise with a strong support network was crucial for Keelan’s next steps.
As the motorsport world watches, the partnership with TRD and the support of organizations like ExxonMobil could further accelerate Keelan’s pursuit of a NASCAR Cup Series career. With his talents proven on the track and the legacy of Kevin Harvick behind him, Keelan looks poised to shape the future for the next generation of NASCAR racing.
