Brennan Poole Scores Shocking NASCAR Top 10 at COTA

Brennan Poole staged a remarkable comeback from his 26th starting position to secure a top 10 finish in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, showing determination and talent throughout the race. The Texas native, representing Team Alpha Prime, used a strong car and steady driving to bring home his notable result, drawing attention across the NASCAR world.

Poole, often associated with Texas Motor Speedway as his home, considers COTA even closer to his roots, making this accomplishment especially meaningful in front of friends and family. His performance at COTA marks another highlight in what is shaping up to be a strong early season, including an eye-catching effort at the season-opener in Daytona and a recent advance from 33rd to 19th at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Steady Season Brings Momentum

The 65-lap race at COTA further solidified Poole’s consistent season. After the event, Poole reflected on the positive trajectory his campaign has taken so far.

“Man, yeah. It’s been a pretty great start,”

Poole told Kickin’ the Tires after the race, expressing appreciation for his team’s hard work.

Noting the importance of banking points early in the year, Poole shared his focus for the remainder of the season:

“We know we got to stack points and stack them big right here at the start of the season, and really couldn’t have asked for a better start, other than maybe the last 25 seconds of Daytona. To go a little bit differently, that one is great, yeah? But, I mean, it’s been really good. The guys have worked really hard. I think we’re even better than we were last year, at least for these first three, so who’s got to keep being smart and keep doing it? Keep stacking points.”

Racing Close to Home Adds Extra Meaning

Despite many race fans believing Texas Motor Speedway is Poole’s home track, he clarified that the Circuit of the Americas holds a special place for him, given its proximity to where he grew up.

“This is more my home track than Dallas is,”

Poole explained.

“It’s really close to where I grew up. And, yeah, I got a lot of friends, a lot of family here. Of course, my partner’s home base is in Dallas, right up the road from here. So, yeah, this is really cool, really cool to get a solid Top 10 with everybody here and a lot of friends and family.”

This meaningful finish, surrounded by a supportive crowd, underscored the significance of the Brennan Poole NASCAR Top 10 result.

Team Alpha Prime’s Blue-Collar Success

Team Alpha Prime, led by owner Tommy Joe Martins, operates with fewer resources than powerful organizations like Joe Gibbs Racing or JR Motorsports. Limited budgets, a smaller fleet of cars, and fewer engineers require the team to rely on creativity, hard work, and resilience. According to Poole, the team’s success is rooted in shared commitment and smart decision-making.

“I think it’s just, you know, this works a lot like other pro sports and any other league or whatever,”

said Poole, drawing a parallel to other competitive environments.

“You know, you can be a great quarterback and be with a team that doesn’t really have all the pieces together and maybe not set the world on fire, right? And I think right now, I’m just surrounded by some really incredible people. I’ve got a great race team that gives me great handling cars. We don’t have everything that it takes to fight at the front of the field but we keep being smart, keep putting good handling race cars on the track, keep putting ourselves in position for it to go our way. If we can continue to have great days like this, I feel like I’m going to be here for another 10 years or so.”

Overcoming Setbacks and Looking Forward

A few years ago, Poole’s career faced a major challenge when he lost his ride due to the DC Solar Ponzi scheme fallout, leading to a lawsuit with Spire Sports + Entertainment and Chip Ganassi Racing. After coming to an out-of-court settlement, Poole focused on rebuilding his path in NASCAR, demonstrating resilience as he aimed to reclaim his place among the series’ top competitors.

Speaking to his aspirations, Poole said,

“Maybe I’ll get another shot and something great and go fight for a championship and race wins on a regular basis,”

surrounded by a supportive team celebrating his latest performance.

What This Means for Poole and Team Alpha Prime

Brennan Poole’s unexpected top 10 finish at COTA for Team Alpha Prime underscores both the driver’s resurgence and the strength of a team built on grit rather than financial muscle. The result not only positions Poole early in the points race but also serves as inspiration for teams working with limited resources across NASCAR. As the season progresses, fans will be watching to see if Poole and Alpha Prime can maintain this momentum and continue their climb toward even bigger results.
