Reports surfaced that NASCAR, seeking a replacement for a failed attempt to secure a Cup Series weekend at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the 2024 season, turned to Iowa Speedway as a backup option. This nod from NASCAR reaffirmed the track’s status as a premier destination for racing at the highest level.

The Iowa Speedway, a gem nestled in Newton, Iowa, offers a thrilling blend of speed and spectacle across its versatile tracks. Primarily known for its D-shaped oval, this asphalt surface spans 0.875 miles (1.408 km) with four turns that challenge drivers with banking ranging from 12 to 14 degrees. The frontstretch boasts a 10-degree incline, while the backstretch offers a slight 4-degree banking, adding complexity to the racing dynamics.
But the excitement doesn’t end there. The Iowa Speedway also features a captivating road course, stretching 1.300 miles (2.092 km) with nine turns.
