The guy who owned those assets was Ray Ciccarelli. And to add even more power to their lineup, they acquired trucks from two other big-name racing teams: GMS Racing and Thorsport Racing.
So, within a short period, G2G Racing gathered trucks and equipment from some of the biggest names in the sport. This shows they are really serious about racing and want to be a strong competitor in the Truck Series.
G2G Racing Drivers
Johnny Sauter is like racing royalty. His dad, Jim Sauter, was a famous racer, and so are his older brothers, Tim and Jay. This guy grew up with racing in his blood! He won the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series championship in 2016 and was even named Rookie of the Year in two different series: the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series in 2009 and the ASA National Tour in 2001. Last season, he raced for two teams, G2G Racing and ThorSport Racing, aiming for the playoffs.
Then there’s Brennan Poole, who has made more than 160 starts in NASCAR’s top three levels. He’s had his best moments in the Xfinity Series, where he’s had 8 Top-5s and 36 Top-10 finishes. But, get this, he even had a win taken away because of a rule change! In the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, he finished second in a big race in Charlotte in 2019 and has also had 4 Top-10 finishes.
