He raced in the No. 2 Flute’s Sheetmetal car and got into the top ten only three times. After that year, he decided it was time to hang up his racing gloves and retired from driving. Jeff Hensley began as a crew chief in 1987 for his family’s No. 63 car. Chuck Bown became the driver in 1989, and together, they won the championship in 1990. Jeff continued with this team until 2001 when it was sold.

After working for Arrington Manufacturers, Hensley joined Bill Davis Racing in 2004. Later, he worked with Mike Skinner and together they won eight races in 2007.
