ACI Motorsports: Chasing Victory at Sebring – 2023 Pirelli GT4 America Thriller

Curt Swearingin, a competitor in the Pirelli GT4 series for ACI Motorsports, is in charge of the team from Chattanooga, Tennessee. For the next-to-last race of the 2023 season, the team goes south to Sebring International Raceway.

Usually, the team takes part in the AWS-powered Fanatec GT World Challenge America. Pedro Torres, who is from Florida, and Spencer Pumpelly, who has been playing for a long time, usually play for them. This potent duo had to sit out because of injuries right before they were to play at Torres’ home field in Sebring. ACI motorsports moves forward with courage, even though they know that Sebring will bring them a lot of big problems. However, issues make them stronger.

The fact that ACI has a massive database of information from their many racing events makes them stand out. This wealth of information sheds light on how to do well.

Curt Swearingin, the team head, says, “Every year, we go to Sebring. By dancing through Sebring’s endurance and sprint races, we figured out how fast it is. The key is to know how the car and driver work together. Sebring is a unique test because it is always changing. Because the road is always bumpy, keeping the cars in line is hard. Even though it is flat, it is hard to break.”

There are three sprint races at the Sebring battle, and the weather changes from the springtime at NOLA Motorsports Park to the summer heat at Sebring. With only two events left on the schedule, the stakes have never been higher, which makes things more complicated.

Swearingin is not worried about the three races at Sebring. He said, “I would have liked Race Two at NOLA, where we did well. The famous heat of Sebring doesn’t work well with the Porsche, and the environment will cause problems. I’m not a nervous driver, but I’m worried about how fast the car is going.”

The fact that ACI is in every Pirelli GT4 America class shows how much they care about quality. ACI doesn’t let the racing series’ Silver, PRO-AM, and AM levels slow them down. They race hard in each class.

“I don’t see a big difference in class competition,” says Swearingin. Each level has a place where people compete hard. As pros race against Silver drivers and beginners fight in the AM Class, their differences become less clear. All three groups need to be the same.”

The team is ready to learn from the problems in 2023. “We always learn,” says Swearingin. We’ve lost a lot because of several failures. We won’t be on the top this season, which is a shame. Even though we made mistakes this year, we’re determined to do better next year. Learning how to handle logistics in different racing events has been challenging.

“We want to keep our series going in 2024, but we also want to get better at competing,” says Swearingin. With our significant efforts, we are determined to cut down on mistakes. We’ll build on the trust we’ve worked hard to gain this season.”

From September 22 to 24, Pirelli GT4 America will compete in three exciting races at Sebring International Raceway. Tickets for this exciting event can be bought online. Over half a million people follow the GT World YouTube account, which shows live races. Race fans can join the SRO Motorsports group on Twitch, where the charismatic Ash Vandelay talks about bright things while streaming each exciting race.
