Jesse Love Joins RCR: In a strategic move for the upcoming NASCAR season, Richard Childress Racing (RCR) has unveiled their newest addition to the team: Jesse Love, the 18-year-old racing prodigy. Love, who recently clinched the 2023 ARCA Menards Series title, is set to make his full-time NASCAR debut next year.
RCR made the announcement on October 25, revealing that Love would be taking the wheel of the #2 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Xfinity Series starting from the 2024 season. The young racer’s success in the ARCA Menards Series has garnered attention, and RCR believes he has what it takes to compete at the Xfinity level.
In a statement expressing his excitement, Love emphasized the honor of joining a legendary team like RCR: “I’ve been fortunate to gain a lot of racing experience at a young age, but nothing compares to the opportunity to race for a legendary team like Richard Childress Racing. I have so much respect for Richard Childress and am extremely grateful to be able to race and learn with one of the most successful teams in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.”
Love’s journey into NASCAR’s upper echelons represents a dream realized. He shared, “I’ve dreamed of racing at the highest levels of the sport since I was a young kid, and the path to the NASCAR Cup Series seems more clear with this opportunity. It’s even more special to be able to represent a company like Whelen, who has a long-standing involvement in motorsports and a strong focus on building American-made products.”
Hailing from Menlo Park, California, Love has already achieved remarkable success in the ARCA Series. His accolades include back-to-back ARCA Menards Series West championships in 2020 and 2021, making him the youngest champion in NASCAR history. This season, he elevated his game in the ARCA Menards Series, securing 10 wins and 17 top-5 finishes, ultimately capturing the series championship.
Richard Childress, Chairman, and CEO of RCR, expressed confidence in Love’s abilities: “We’ve been watching Jesse for a while now, and his breakout performance in the ARCA Menards Series was impressive this season. We know that he has the talent and determination to win races and compete for championships within RCR’s NASCAR Xfinity Series program.”
Additionally, RCR is delighted to continue their partnership with Whelen, a company deeply involved in motorsports and committed to producing American-made products. Love will proudly represent Whelen on the No. 2 car, serving as a strong ambassador for the brand.
Fans can witness Jesse Love’s NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway on February 17, 2024. Stay tuned as RCR and their young talent gear up for an exhilarating season of high-speed racing.
