Deegan’s journey with Ford started in 2019 when she joined the Ford Performance Driver Development Program. Since then, she has participated in NASCAR and IMSA races using Ford vehicles. Although her performance in the Truck Series has shown occasional promise, it hasn’t been consistently impressive. However, her one Xfinity start last year at Las Vegas, where she finished 13th in the lead lap, hinted at her potential in the series.
Rushbrook acknowledged Deegan’s progress and the challenges she faced, stating, “It’s been an interesting road, honestly. She had a good season in ARCA when she started her relationship with us.” He also pointed out that the Xfinity Series could offer Deegan a chance to shine, considering the differences in driving styles between various series.
Moving to Xfinity presents a fresh opportunity for Deegan to prove herself in a different racing environment. AM Racing, the team she will be racing for, aims to provide her with the support she needs to showcase her capabilities. Despite skepticism from some quarters, Deegan’s determination and adaptability might just help her find her stride in the Xfinity Series. As she transitions to the #15 Mustang of AM Racing, all eyes will be on her as she navigates this new chapter in her racing career.
