Anthony Alfredo Departure: At just 24 years old, this racer snagged two top-10 finishes racing for BJ McLeod Motorsports, securing a 20th spot in the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship standings. But in a recent media teleconference, team owner BJ McLeod officially confirmed Alfredo won’t be returning to the fold next season.
Anthony contributed immensely this year, expressed McLeod gratefully. He brought a talented crew to our shop last offseason. Hes a skilled driver, lightning-fast on the track, a genuinely great guy from a wonderful family. They’ve got some opportunities they’re exploring, so BJ McLeod Motorsports is actively scouting for our 2024 driver.
Alfredo’s next destination remains a mystery, although some speculate a subtle hint in a recent emoji-laden post on X could indicate his 2024 plans.
Rewinding the racing tape, Alfredo’s journey includes commendable stints with TRICON Garage and DGR-Crosley in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, claiming two top-10 finishes in 13 starts in 2019.
His subsequent move to Richard Childress Racing in the Xfinity Series delivered two top-fives and nine top-10s across 19 races. A leap to the NASCAR Cup Series with Front Row Motorsports in 2021 was followed by a return to the Xfinity Series, first with Our Motorsports in 2022 and later with BJMM in 2023.
While BJ McLeod Motorsports celebrated one of its finest seasons in 2023, the team opts to remain a single-car force in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for 2024, shunning immediate expansion plans.
Were sticking to our one-car setup. No interest in doubling up anytime soon, McLeod asserted. If we can sustain high performance over two consecutive seasons with one car and I feel confident about it, maybe then Id reconsider. But right now, our goal is a strong single-car team each week.
