Southern National Motorsports Park: Thanksgiving Classic Spectacular!

Southern National Motorsports Park in Lucama, NC, has inked a deal with Racing America, making the esteemed Solid Rock Carriers Thanksgiving Classic from November 24 to 26 exclusively available to Racing America subscribers.

The centerpiece of this three-day extravaganza is a 250-lap showdown featuring the power-packed Late Model Stock Cars. Alongside, a thrilling lineup of Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Southern Lightning Modifieds, Southern Ground Pounders, Chargers, Legends, Bandoleros, and Any Cars will command the track across the weekend.

Dating back to its inception in 1998, the Thanksgiving Classic, claimed initially by Philip Morris, has seen an array of triumphant drivers including notable NASCAR figures such as Denny Hamlin, Scott Riggs, and Josh Berry.

Speaking of Berry, slated to join Stewart-Haas Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series for 2024, he’s vying for an unprecedented third consecutive victory at the Thanksgiving Classic after clinching triumphs in the last two editions. Joining an elite league of repeat winners, Berry, with his previous year’s win, entered the ranks of Hamlin, four-time track champion Jamey Caudill, and Matt McCall. The latter currently calls the shots as crew chief for Brad Keselowski’s No. 6 RFK Racing Ford in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Amidst the anticipation for this year’s race, a roster of talented contenders has already entered, including former CARS Tour champions Deac McCaskill and Jared Fryar, 2022 South Carolina 400 winner Brenden Queen, and 2015 track champion Jonathan Findley.

The list of noteworthy participants also boasts Doug Barnes, Jr., who secured a respectable third position in the 2021 Thanksgiving Classic, 2009 ValleyStar Credit Union 300 victor Jake Crum, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series contender Kaden Honeycutt.

The action-packed affair kicks off on Friday, November 24, with gripping competitions across four divisions: Bandoleros, Chargers, Legends, and the Any Car class, roaring to life at 8 p.m. ET.
