Riverside International Speedway: NASCAR enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The iconic Riverside International Speedway is set to welcome back the rebranded Canada Series in 2024, signaling a momentous return of NASCAR to the Nova Scotia racetrack. Scheduled for June 29 and 30, the track will host a thrilling back-to-back racing spectacle.
With a storied history that traces back to its inception in 1975, Riverside International Speedway has seen its fair share of NASCAR legends. The track welcomed its inaugural celebrity driver, Benny Parsons, who graced the Canada Series race in ’75, kickstarting its NASCAR journey.
Notably, Riverside reached a milestone in 2007, securing its place as the sole NASCAR-sanctioned Canadian racetrack east of Quebec. Beyond NASCAR, the venue has been a steadfast host of The Maritime Pro Stock Tour since 2001.
Donald Chisholm, the track’s owner, is eagerly anticipating this momentous occasion. In his words, shared via Inside Track News, “We are thrilled to welcome NASCAR back to Riverside. They will provide our fans with an opportunity to see some of the best stock car racers and racing in Canada. We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones, racers and fans alike.”
Chisholm’s ties with Riverside extend beyond ownership; the 47-year-old also showcases his skills on the track. His poignant victory at the Canadian Tire Series Wilson Equipment 300 in 2014 held immense sentimental value, arriving just two months after the passing of his father and former track owner, John Chisholm.
