CARS Tour 2024: NASCAR’s Influence and Cup Stars’ Potential Participation

CARS Tour 2024: The buzz around the 2024 CARS Tour schedule revolved heavily around the North Wilkesboro Speedway, but the impact on the NASCAR schedule was also on the radar. The timing of the Florence race, coinciding with the Southern 500 in Darlington, hints at potential participation from NASCAR drivers.

Jeff Burton, co-owner, hinted at the possibility in a conversation with, recalling Kyle Larson’s debut in this year’s Tour. Larson, the 2021 Cup Series champion, joined the Tour before the Chicago Street Race, boosting the event at Caraway Speedway. Burton expressed his keenness to see Larson return.

With high-profile owners Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Justin Marks, and Jeff Burton involved, the 2024 CARS Tour promises heightened interest. Watching Cup stars fine-tune their skills in other racing events excites fans, and Hendrick Motorsports‘ Kyle Larson seems particularly enthusiastic about such opportunities.

When asked about NASCAR’s role in bolstering both car and fan count, Burton emphasized, “NASCAR’s involvement is monumental! They’ve been excellent partners with the CARS Tour, fostering grassroots racing.” He noted how strategically aligning some races with the Cup schedule could bring in NASCAR fans simultaneously.

Reflecting on Larson’s contribution after his Tour debut, Burton noted, “Kyle Larson’s insights after racing with us were invaluable. It’s crucial to expose ourselves to their feedback to refine our approach.” Larson, who hadn’t driven a Late Model Stock Car in a decade before Dale Earnhardt Jr’s invitation, thoroughly enjoyed the experience and didn’t rule out a return.

Acknowledging the success of mid-week races, especially those close to home, Larson hinted at the possibility of further appearances. With more mid-week events scheduled around the Cup schedule in 2024, co-owner Dale Jr. might work his magic again, potentially inviting Larson or other Cup Series regulars to the Florence Speedway, enticing their massive fanbase.
