Clint Bowyer Astonished as Talladega Race Avoids Big Wrecks, Cindric Clinches First Season Win

Former NASCAR star Clint Bowyer expressed disbelief over the lack of substantial wreckage in the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway this Sunday. This was a stark contrast to last October, when 28 drivers were involved in a massive crash near the end of the race.

“No big wreck, that’s what surprised me,” revealed Bowyer during the post-race coverage on FOX. “I think the group got tight. With only two wide, those guys in the second row were trying to create momentum but found pushes coming from the back.”

He speculated that it was catching the lap cars that gave Austin Cindric the slight pull he needed at the right time. “When they [, being Cindric], caught those lap cars, I think it gave him that little bit of tow that he needed to pull in front of [Ryan] Preece to win.”

This marked a significant win for Austin Cindric. Having been involved in the NASCAR Cup Series for several years, this moment was a long time coming for him. “That’s a big win for Austin Cindric and a long time coming,” Bowyer acknowledged.

The triumph was not lost on Cindric himself who went on to win his first race of the season. “I’m just so proud of this team,” He expressed post-race.

Cindric paid tribute to his team citing their efforts for the victory. From their fast cars to their strategic fuel-only stops, it was coordinated teamwork that led to their success. “The ford/”>Ford Performance, Roush Yates engine package at these types of race tracks are second to none.” He felt thankful for the support and was proud of the team’s effort.

While it was a victory for Cindric, it was also a successful race in terms of damage control. With fewer wrecks than expected, especially compared to last year’s race, this unexpected turn of events left Bowyer and likely many others in astonishment. Whether this trend will continue in coming races is yet to be seen, but for now, it serves as a refreshing surprise.
