Kaulig Racing prepares for a significant weekend at Richmond Raceway as AJ Allmendinger reaches his 100th NASCAR Cup Series start with the team, while new initiatives and partnerships highlight the organization’s ongoing community and competitive efforts. The Kaulig Racing Richmond Raceway preview features Team Owner Matt Kaulig’s recent honors, charitable involvement, and key updates on drivers AJ Allmendinger and Ty Dillon as they set their sights on a strong showing at one of NASCAR’s most challenging short tracks.
Matt Kaulig Recognized for Leadership and Community Impact
Matt Kaulig, Executive Chairman and Founder of Kaulig Companies, was recently named to the 2025 Cleveland 500 by Cleveland Magazine, an annual listing that celebrates 500 individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and influence in Northeast Ohio. This recognition, announced on August 11, signals Kaulig’s ongoing commitment to making a meaningful difference in his community through both business and philanthropy.
Kaulig’s community engagement continued as he joined former major league pitcher CC Sabathia for the third time at the PitCChin Foundation Baseball Procamp on August 13. The event was held at Luke Easter Park in Cleveland, where 200 children participated in baseball skills activities and received feedback and encouragement from Sabathia, further highlighting Kaulig’s involvement in initiatives supporting youth and families.
Major Partnerships and Charity Initiatives Boost Team Profile
This weekend, Kaulig Racing reinforces its commitment to community causes. The No. 16 Black’s Tire Service Chevrolet will display the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina logo to help raise awareness and support for their forthcoming charity golf tournament, scheduled for September 18, 2025, at Myrtle Beach National Golf Course. The organization emphasizes its “families supporting families” philosophy, using its racing platform to promote charitable giving and local engagement.
Race weekend also shines a spotlight on Sea Best and Roma, two leading brands featured on the No. 10 Chevrolet driven by Ty Dillon. Sea Best, the principal partner for this event, is the flagship brand of Beaver Street Fisheries. Operating out of Jacksonville, Florida, the company brings a wide variety of high-quality seafood products to the market. Roma, part of Performance Foodservice, is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year and is renowned for supporting local restaurants with top-tier Italian ingredients.
AJ Allmendinger Poised for 100th Start With Kaulig Racing
This weekend at Richmond Raceway, AJ Allmendinger will make his 100th start with Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series, becoming the first driver in team history to achieve this milestone. Allmendinger arrives at Richmond after an 11th-place finish at Watkins Glen International. His record at Richmond includes 26 Cup Series starts and three top-10 finishes, while his three Xfinity Series appearances with Kaulig Racing at the same track have produced a top-five finish.
Richmond is a difficult racetrack where we typically have a lot of long runs and tires wear out really quick. The track changes a lot throughout the course of the race so you’re always trying to keep up with it. We have lacked speed there in the past, but we’ve made a lot of improvements on our short track program; our group is ready for the challenge. Track position is critical, so we’ll look to qualify up front and have the speed to consistently run in the top 15 all day.

Ty Dillon Brings Experience and Optimism to Richmond
Ty Dillon, piloting the No. 10 Sea Best/Roma Camaro ZL1, returns to Richmond Raceway with considerable experience across NASCAR’s major series. Over 25 career starts at Richmond including 13 in the Cup Series, 11 in Xfinity, and one Truck Series race, Dillon’s record features a career-best Xfinity Series finish of second in 2016, alongside two top-5 finishes, eight top-10s, and 14 top-20s overall at the venue.
Richmond is a place I’ve always enjoyed and ran well at in the past. It’s a very tough place to pass and you need to start your weekend fast and up front. We’re working hard each week, especially this week with our simulator time, to have our car fast from the start of the weekend so we can qualify up front and have a strong race.

Fans will have opportunities to meet Dillon at the NASCAR Experience Stage and the Chevrolet Merchandise Hauler on August 16, giving supporters a chance to directly engage with the driver ahead of race day.
Team and Crew Chief Lineups for Richmond
The No. 10 team will be led by Crew Chief Andrew Dickeson, with Sea Best and Roma providing primary support. Meanwhile, the No. 16 team sees Trent Owens at the helm as Crew Chief, with Black’s Tire Service continuing their robust partnership, now joined by the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina for a series of philanthropic efforts.
The dual focus on high-performance racing and community involvement reinforces Kaulig Racing’s commitment both on and off the track this weekend at Richmond Raceway.
Broader Significance and What to Expect Next
Kaulig Racing’s approach to the Richmond Raceway weekend embodies a blend of sporting milestones and meaningful outreach, as drivers AJ Allmendinger and Ty Dillon prepare to compete at one of NASCAR’s most challenging circuits. With Allmendinger chasing top-15 results in his historic 100th start and Dillon aiming to leverage his Richmond experience, the team is poised for a competitive run. Meanwhile, Matt Kaulig’s recognition in the Cleveland 500 and continued charitable activities extend the organization’s influence beyond motorsports. The upcoming charity golf tournament and partnerships are set to build on Kaulig Racing’s community impact, as the organization continues to drive success both on the racetrack and within the regions it calls home.
