Corey Heim Ties NASCAR Truck Series Record in Historic Streak

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has entered a remarkable era, as Corey Heim NASCAR Truck Series continues to dominate the 2025 season with an ongoing streak that has rewritten series history. Over the past eight races, only Heim and Layne Riggs have taken the checkered flag, dramatically altering the championship race and showcasing an intense rivalry between these two young stars.

Heim Matches a Landmark NASCAR Truck Record

Since the inception of the Truck Series in 1995, no pair of drivers had ever split victory in eight consecutive races. This trend began at Pocono Raceway in late June and persisted through New Hampshire Motor Speedway, where Corey Heim notched his ninth win of the season and tied a legendary record. After Heim’s latest triumph, Greg Biffle, the previous record-holder, offered his congratulations online:

Welcome to the 9-win club @CoreyHeim_ cheers!

By matching Biffle’s single-season record—a standard untouched since 1999—Heim has demonstrated extraordinary control over the competition. As a 23-year-old native of Georgia, Heim’s consistency has placed him in a league rarely seen in the sport.

Heim’s accomplishments go beyond his nine wins. Through the first fifteen events of the year, he has led an impressive 988 laps, accounting for 42.6% of all laps completed—a record pace for such a span in series history. When discussing his achievement, Heim reflected modestly:

I haven’t really thought about it a whole lot yet. I think it’s more of a looking back in hindsight thing.

Layne Riggs Emerges as Heim’s Main Challenger

While Heim’s run has grabbed headlines, Layne Riggs has shown that he is a tough competitor determined to challenge for the top spot. Representing Front Row Motorsports in the No. 34 Ford F-150, Riggs has established himself as a consistent threat, especially thriving on tracks less than a mile in length.

Riggs broke Heim’s streak at Bristol Motor Speedway and later dominated at Indianapolis Raceway Park, leading 160 of 200 laps. These wins contributed to one of the best seasons Front Row Motorsports has experienced in the Truck Series, signaling Riggs’ rise as a formidable force.

A Championship Race Unlike Any Other

This extraordinary run, monopolized by Heim and Riggs, has set up an exciting dynamic heading into the critical Round of 8 playoffs. With Heim holding a significant 61-point lead while both drivers remain entrenched as clear championship favorites, the 2025 season is on course for a memorable finish. Their sustained excellence and rivalry not only define this season, but also set a high bar for future competitors in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

As the playoffs approach, fans and teams alike are watching to see if either driver can break the tie and further etch their name into the history books, ensuring that this chapter of the NASCAR Truck Series will be remembered for years to come.
