Trackhouse Racing Talladega 2025 promises high stakes, as the team’s drivers Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen, and Daniel Suárez prepare for a fiercely competitive weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, hoping to secure big results both on track and in the fans’ hearts. With only three races left this NASCAR season, each member of the Trackhouse squad is counting on passionate fan support and strategic prowess to make an impact in the remaining championship rounds.
Trackhouse Drivers Rally Support Ahead of Talladega
The excitement for Trackhouse Racing Talladega 2025 extends to a heated Most Popular Driver Award contest, where fans are urged to cast their votes for Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen, or Daniel Suárez. Each driver enjoys a devoted following, with Chastain’s “Melon Nation” rallying behind their watermelon-smashing hero, New Zealanders cheering on the versatile Van Gisbergen, and Mexican fans standing with Suárez, their countryman and friend. NASCAR enthusiasts can vote for their favorite Trackhouse driver up to five times daily, supporting their pick with each ballot submission.
In addition to the championship’s competitive edge, Trackhouse and its drivers are engaging closely with fans throughout the weekend, from autograph sessions to race day festivities. These interactions help fuel both excitement in the fan base and momentum for the drivers as the showdown approaches.

Chevrolet and Breast Cancer Awareness at Talladega
Marking a milestone, 2025 represents Chevrolet’s fifteenth consecutive year collaborating with the American Cancer Society for the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” campaign. In tribute, a special pink Corvette Stingray will lead the field as the Official Pace Vehicle not only at Talladega but also at the upcoming Martinsville Speedway race. This gesture keeps awareness for breast cancer front and center during one of NASCAR’s most-watched weekends, reinforcing the sport’s commitment to meaningful causes alongside its on-track drama.
Ross Chastain Gears Up with Busch Light Hunting Scheme
This Talladega weekend, Ross Chastain will pilot the No. 1 Chevrolet adorned with a dynamic Busch Light Hunting paint scheme. The camouflage-inspired livery heralds the return of Busch Light Hunting Cans for their 19th annual limited-edition run, which has become a favorite among fans 21 and older since 2006. The promotion includes an exclusive gathering for hunting enthusiasts in Appleton, Wisconsin—a celebration featuring Busch Light’s mascot, merchandise, hunting games, and plenty of the collectible cans. Busch Light also launched a sweepstakes with cash prizes for fans active on social media during the race, adding further excitement to the event.
Chastain is no stranger to Talladega’s unpredictable nature, with memorable moments including a dramatic win in April 2022—his second career Cup Series victory and a hallmark for both driver and Trackhouse Racing. Most recently at the spring race, Chastain led 11 laps before placing 20th, illustrating the rollercoaster outcomes so common at the 2.66-mile superspeedway. As one of the most successful drivers in the No. 1 car, he has accumulated six wins under its banner since 2022, breaking the prior record held by Jamie McMurray.
Chastain’s connection with his fans goes beyond the track, as he plans to meet supporters for autographs at the Trackhouse merchandise hauler in the Fan Zone before the race. Despite a challenging outing in Las Vegas the prior weekend, where a necessary start at the rear of the field led to a 23rd-place finish after a late-race mishap, Chastain remains focused and hopeful for a successful turnaround at Talladega.
In his role as ambassador and motivator for Trackhouse Racing, Chastain further boosted excitement by visiting Coronado Naval Base, the future venue for a high-profile street race, while also honoring the Navy’s 250th anniversary and collaborating with various media outlets to promote the upcoming event. The enduring partnership between Chastain and crew chief Phil Surgen, one of the Cup Series’ longest current driver-crew chief duos, adds stability and cohesion to their efforts this season.
Talladega is such a wild-card. You truly have no idea how it’s going to go for you. You can be the fastest car but that doesn’t guarantee you’ll win. You need to be a little bit lucky to avoid the accidents so you can even have a shot at winning at the end. There really hasn’t been a pattern for me at this track. I’ve won it from a last lap pass to ending up wrecked making a high-risk move for position, you just truly don’t know what is going to happen. That’s why the fans like it so much, you just never know who is going to win.
—Ross Chastain, Trackhouse Racing Driver
Reflecting on his car’s custom-themed look for the Talladega race, Chastain commented, “I hope I’m going so fast that it’s hard to see me with the Busch Light Hunting scheme. Busch Light does a great job with their specialty schemes and I can’t think of a better track to run a Hunting scheme than Talladega. I had fun shooting content in the woods for it. “ —Ross Chastain, Trackhouse Racing Driver
Shane van Gisbergen Sets Sights on Superspeedway Progress
Shane van Gisbergen returns to Talladega for his fourth Cup Series start at the superspeedway and ninth on a drafting track, aiming to improve on past results and confirm his growth as a NASCAR superspeedway competitor. Earlier this season at Talladega, a late pit road penalty led to a 29th-place finish, while his personal best on a drafting track came at Daytona with a 16th-place run. Despite adversity in his recent Las Vegas effort, where an accident cut short a promising top-10 run, van Gisbergen’s rookie campaign has been exceptional—achieving five wins, the most for a Sunoco Rookie in a season, and matching legends such as Dan Gurney and Jeff Gordon with milestones in race victories.
The New Zealand native’s journey to NASCAR has been groundbreaking. Van Gisbergen scored two historic inaugural event victories: first at Mexico City’s debut Cup Series event, then at the Chicago Street Race with PROJECT91. His impact is not just measured in wins but also in international visibility, being the only driver outside of the United States with four or more Cup Series victories. Under the guidance of crew chief Stephen Doran, also fresh from recent wins, van Gisbergen has reached new heights and, with a multi-year contract extension signed for Trackhouse Racing, looks forward to a continued presence in the organization’s future.
The support for van Gisbergen from fans in New Zealand and Australia has been overwhelming, with enthusiastic crowds greeting him at every track, further fueling his performance and motivation. He will join fans for a special Q&A at the Chevrolet Display and an autograph session at the Trackhouse merchandise hauler in the Fan Zone before the green flag at Talladega.
It’s crazy and very different than a traditional oval. We are doing 320 kilometers in a pack of 40 cars. It’s amazing how fast we are going, all squeezed together. Talladega is one of the most difficult races that we do. Hopefully this weekend we can prove that we are getting better at that (superspeedway racing) too and get a good result.
—Shane van Gisbergen, Trackhouse Racing Driver
I like the challenge of all of them. I like how different they all are. The intermediates, they look the same shape on paper, but when you go there, they all drive so differently. I really like the challenge of finding all the little integrities on the track and what makes the cars work.
—Shane van Gisbergen, Trackhouse Racing Driver
The support I’ve gotten coming over here (United States) has been great! As I always say, when New Zealanders or Aussies go overseas, the support we get is amazing. It’s in all different series, like IndyCar, Formula 1 and Formula E, it’s so cool to see the support we get and it’s really appreciated. Every track I go to, there are always some Kiwis or Aussies there to support me. It’s really special.

Daniel Suárez Pursues Consistency, Readies for Next Chapter
Daniel Suárez, piloting the Freeway Insurance No. 99 Chevrolet, heads to Talladega bolstered by a recent string of strong performances. With five top-10 finishes in 17 Talladega starts—including a season-best eighth in the fall race of 2022—Suárez has repeatedly demonstrated the speed and resilience necessary for superspeedway success. His recent drive in April for a ninth-place finish adds further confidence for both himself and the team entering this pivotal weekend. Suárez’s superspeedway credentials also extend to the Xfinity Series, where he twice finished in the top 10 at Talladega.
In 2022, Suárez enjoyed perhaps his most impressive Talladega showing, qualifying fourth and leading 28 laps before a mid-race incident brought an early end to his challenge. Last weekend in Las Vegas, he led Trackhouse Racing with a steady 20th-place result, dodging late-race incidents to keep himself on the lead lap in a test of patience and strategy.
Beyond the track, Suárez’s personal journey remains an inspiration. Now a dual citizen of Mexico and the United States, after taking his American Oath of Allegiance in a ceremony witnessed by friends, NASCAR colleagues, and Commissioner Steve Phelps, Suárez’s story of perseverance is widely admired. Married to Julia Piquet, daughter of Formula One’s three-time world champion Nelson Piquet, Suárez celebrated both professional and personal milestones this season, including a return to his native Mexico for NASCAR’s inaugural race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. His heroic charge from last to first in the Xfinity Series race remains one of the season’s standout stories, complemented by Van Gisbergen’s win, marking the first time since 2009 that international drivers swept a NASCAR race weekend.
Ahead of the 2026 season, Trackhouse Racing and Suárez announced they will part ways after 2025, a decision welcomed by both sides as they look forward to new ventures. Xfinity standout Connor Zilisch will step into the Cup lineup for Trackhouse in 2026, paired with Randall Burnett as crew chief, charting a fresh chapter for the organization while Suárez seeks continued growth elsewhere in motorsports.
The racing at Talladega can get so crazy but it’s a lot of fun when you can stay out of trouble and have a good day. We’ve been able to do that quite a bit in the last few races there. It was an up-and-down day for our team in the spring race. I thought our car had speed, but we needed to improve the balance. Our guys on pit road executed well when it counted the most late in the race. Everyone at Trackhouse does a great job preparing our Freeway Insurance Chevrolet and ECR gives us great engines, especially at Talladega and Daytona. I certainly think we can have another strong run this weekend.
—Daniel Suárez, Trackhouse Racing Driver
I love Talladega. At first, I really didn’t like superspeedway racing but the more I did it the more I started to enjoy it. We have been so close so many times on the superspeedway. One of these days we are going to win one of these races and I hope it is Sunday.
—Daniel Suárez, Trackhouse Racing Driver
Sponsors and Partners Elevate the Talladega Experience
Trackhouse Racing’s growth and on-track performance at Talladega are driven not only by its drivers but also by the commitment of partners such as Busch Light, WeatherTech, and Freeway Insurance. Busch Light has solidified its place as a staple in NASCAR culture, appealing to outdoors enthusiasts and sponsoring fan-friendly initiatives, such as sweepstakes and collector can releases. WeatherTech, with its focus on American-made craftsmanship and innovation, continues to support van Gisbergen’s efforts, while Freeway Insurance remains a visible supporter of Suárez, showcasing its distinctive branding on the No. 99 Chevrolet throughout the season.
The engagement from these sponsors expands fan experiences at the racetrack, through interactive events, personalized merchandise, and opportunities to connect with drivers. This partnership synergy is at the core of Trackhouse Racing’s identity, helping push boundaries both on and off the track for their roster of diverse and dynamic drivers.

Chastain, van Gisbergen, and Suárez each bring their own narrative—resilience, record-breaking, or personal triumphs—and, together, they underscore the global reach and competitive fire fueling NASCAR’s dynamic landscape.
As the season draws to a close, every lap at Talladega gains greater meaning, with fan engagement, sponsor collaborations, and driver determination merging for what could be a defining race weekend.
