Daniel Suarez Joins Spire Motorsports for 2026 NASCAR Season

Daniel Suarez Spire Motorsports 2026 becomes a reality as racing veteran Daniel Suarez signs on to drive the No. 7 Chevrolet ZL1 for Spire Motorsports in the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season. Suarez, a two-time Cup Series winner from Monterrey, Mexico, and the 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion, makes this significant move after five seasons with Trackhouse Racing, marking a pivotal shift for both his career and Spire’s growing ambitions.

Suarez’s Racing Journey Reaches a New Chapter

At 33, Daniel Suarez brings nearly a decade of Cup Series experience and 321 starts to Spire Motorsports. After piloting the No. 99 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing, he is set to debut with Spire during NASCAR’s annual pre-season festivities on February 1, 2026, at the historic Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Suarez’s impressive career includes three pole positions, two victories, 24 top-five, and 75 top-ten finishes on NASCAR’s senior circuit, making him one of the sport’s most recognizable competitors.

Suarez’s career began in the go-kart ranks in 2003, quickly progressing to win Mexican national karting championships in 2004 and 2008. His talent on international tracks was highlighted through invitations to the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals for both seasons. Complementing his karting efforts, he ventured into four-cylinder mini-stock cars in the NASCAR PEAK Mexico support series and earned the division’s most wins in 2008. By 2010, he completed his first full season in the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series, earning Rookie of the Year and several top finishes.

Following his American debut at the 2011 All-Star Showdown in Irwindale, California, Suarez increased his participation in U.S. stock-car events, competing part-time across the ARCA Menards Series East and West from 2012 to 2014. His national tour debut occurred at Kentucky Speedway on September 19, 2014, where he qualified third, led 39 laps, and secured a fifth-place finish. A month later, he made his NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series debut and earned a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series ride by 2015. Over the next two years, he claimed six poles, three wins, 27 top-five and 45 top-ten finishes, and captured the 2016 Xfinity Series title. Suarez also celebrated a Truck Series victory at Phoenix Raceway’s penultimate 2016 race.

Freeway Insurance Powers New Partnership

Ahead of the 2026 season, Freeway Insurance, the nation’s largest and fastest-growing personal lines insurance broker and distributor, joins forces with Spire Motorsports as the anchor partner for Suarez’s campaign. Their logo will be prominently displayed on the No. 7 Chevrolet, debuting at the 2026 Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Freeway Insurance has long prioritized affordable, accessible protection, serving millions of customers through retail, digital, and telephone platforms across the United States. Their alliance with Suarez underscores shared values of trust, hard work, and connecting with multicultural communities—a recurring theme in both Suarez’s and Freeway’s stories.

“Spire’s growth over the last few years is quite impressive,”

said Suarez.

“That’s something I have mentioned to every single member who I have talked to at Spire Motorsports. I’m sure I’m not the only person who can see that and I’m excited to be part of it now. I know that even with the growth Spire has had the last few years, it hasn’t reached its full potential, just yet. There is a lot more out there to achieve, and I want to be part of that. I want to be part of that growth and use my experience to help my team, and the entire company continue to grow.”

Cesar Soriano, CEO of Freeway Insurance and a U.S. Army veteran, also praised the collaboration.

“Daniel has been an incredible ambassador for our brand,”

said Soriano.

“As someone who’s proudly served, I believe in teamwork, discipline, and perseverance — the same qualities Daniel brings to the track every week. His determination, authenticity, and connection to fans mirror what Freeway stands for — helping people move forward with confidence. We’re proud to continue supporting him as he joins Spire Motorsports and look forward to growing together both on and off the track.”

— Cesar Soriano, CEO of Freeway Insurance

Suarez reiterated the value of this partnership, emphasizing both its professional and cultural significance.

“It means a lot to have Freeway Insurance following me on this journey,”

he said.

“I’m very blessed to have great partners. Freeway Insurance, for sure, is one of those partners that is not just a logo on the race car but it’s also a partner that has the same goals and connects with the same market I do. More than half of Freeway’s employees and customers are Spanish speakers. So, for me, that’s very personal to be able to partner with a company that interacts and connects with my community. I feel very fortunate to not just have a partnership with them in racing, but also to share the passion that we do outside of the racetrack – connecting and making an impact in our community.”
