Front Row Motorsports Locks In Layne Riggs for NASCAR Trucks

Front Row Motorsports has solidified its future in the NASCAR Truck Series by extending Layne Riggs’ contract in the No. 34 Ford F-150 for multiple seasons. The move keeps Riggs, a rising talent in the Front Row Motorsports NASCAR Truck Series, with the team after his breakthrough year in the NCTS.

Layne Riggs Secures Multi-Year Extension with FRM

Layne Riggs has signed a multi-year agreement to continue racing the No. 34 Ford for Front Row Motorsports in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. Riggs, originally from Bahama, North Carolina, has quickly established himself as a strong competitor. In his second full NCTS season at just 23 years old, Riggs claimed three wins, three pole positions, and secured 12 top-five as well as 15 top-10 finishes. This performance led him to his first career playoff appearance, where he reached the Round of 8 and narrowly missed a spot in the Championship Four by only one point.

Major Progress in Second Full-Time Season

Looking back on his 2024 campaign, Riggs expressed his excitement and appreciation for the team’s accomplishments, saying,

“This year was a huge confidence booster—not just for me, but for our entire team,”

said Riggs.

“Making a deep playoff run is no easy task, but this group made it feel that way. We’re ready for the offseason, but just as excited to come out swinging at Daytona.”

Riggs made his full-time Truck Series debut with Front Row Motorsports in 2024, when he capped off a remarkable rookie season by winning twice, finishing in the top-five seven times and in the top-10 ten times. These achievements earned him the Sunoco Rookie of the Year award, highlighting his swift adaptation to the NCTS and the impressive momentum he carries into the next season.

Team Chemistry and Continued Growth

Riggs credits much of his progress to the synergy within his team. He remarked,

“It’s truly incredible what this team has done these last two seasons,”

said Riggs.

“This group of guys has had my back since day one and the bond we have formed is something that I hold close to my heart. We have really stepped it up compared to 2024 and it’s only going to get better. I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

Another pivotal element for the team’s ongoing success is Crew Chief Dylan Cappello. Previously the lead engineer during Zane Smith’s championship and subsequent 2023 season, Cappello took on the Crew Chief responsibilities with Riggs in 2024. Since their collaboration began, the duo has celebrated five wins, 19 top-five, and 25 top-10 finishes—showcasing their effective partnership both on and off the track.

Strong Partnership with Crew Chief Dylan Cappello

Riggs highlighted the unique relationship with Cappello, saying,

“Dylan (Cappello) and I just click,”

said Riggs.

“Not only do we both have a racing background, but we both have mechanical engineering degrees. I can tell him how the truck feels, and he’ll know exactly what I mean and how to make it better. We work well together and have something that will hopefully carry us into another playoff berth.”

What Lies Ahead for FRM and Riggs

Securing Layne Riggs for a multi-year term marks a decisive step forward for Front Row Motorsports as they build on recent accomplishments in the NASCAR Truck Series. With the successful teamwork between Riggs and Cappello, the organization sets its sights on deeper playoff runs and championship contention in upcoming seasons. As anticipation grows for the next campaign, all eyes will be on Riggs, the dedicated team, and the No. 34 Ford F-150 as they prepare to compete at top events, including Daytona, aiming for even greater achievements.
