Chevrolet achieved a remarkable NASCAR Cup Series championship sweep in 2025, continuing its dominance by capturing both the Driver and Manufacturer Championships after the season’s final race at Phoenix Raceway. This victory solidifies the Bowtie brand’s legacy as a leading force in the sport, adding new accolades to its impressive record.
Chevrolet Continues Its Championship Streak
Recording its 34th Driver Championship and an unprecedented 44th Manufacturer Championship, Chevrolet marked the 29th occasion it has claimed both major NASCAR Cup Series titles. The 2025 season signaled the fifth year in a row that Chevrolet has won the manufacturer title at NASCAR’s highest tier, keeping the brand unbeaten in the Next Gen era. Chevrolet secured double-digit wins again this season, with six drivers each earning victories for the brand.
Notably, Shane van Gisbergen led Chevrolet drivers with five wins, finishing second overall in the series, while Kyle Larson and William Byron captured three wins each. Other significant contributors included Chase Elliott with two victories, and both Ross Chastain and Austin Dillon each taking one checkered flag. Chevrolet’s milestone wins in 2025 featured William Byron’s third consecutive DAYTONA 500 for the brand, Ross Chastain’s triumph in the Coca-Cola 600 for their 26th win at the event, and Shane van Gisbergen’s victory in NASCAR’s historic first international, points-paying Cup race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Additional drivers who added valuable finishes, helping propel Chevrolet to championship glory, were Carson Hocevar, Daniel Suarez, Alex Bowman, and AJ Allmendinger. Their combined efforts highlighted the depth and talent within Chevrolet’s NASCAR Cup Series teams.
General Motors Celebrates Historic Achievement
“Sweeping the championship titles at NASCAR’s highest level is a remarkable accomplishment,”
said Mark Reuss, President of General Motors.
“Winning the NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Championship for the fifth consecutive season is a testament to the relentless effort of Chevrolet engineers and team partners who bring their best to the track every week. Congratulations and thank you to all who helped Chevy come out on top in 2025.”

Kyle Larson Claims His Second Cup Series Crown
Kyle Larson, representing Hendrick Motorsports, earned his second career NASCAR Cup Series Champion title by finishing third at the Phoenix finale, outpacing all other title contenders. At just 33, the Elk Grove, California native joined an elite group as one of only three active multi-time champions in the premier series. This accomplishment underscores Larson’s skill and the strength of the Hendrick Motorsports team, led by Crew Chief Cliff Daniels, in delivering consistent performance at the pinnacle of stock car racing.
“Congratulations to Kyle Larson, Cliff Daniels and the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet team on their second NASCAR Cup Series Championship,”
added Reuss.
“Kyle and Cliff have a unique chemistry that enables them to adapt and execute at the highest level. We’re incredibly happy for Rick and all the Hendrick Motorsports team members for winning their 15th Cup Series Championship.”
– Mark Reuss, President of General Motors
Road to the 2025 Championship
Larson’s path to the 2025 title began with a win at Homestead-Miami Speedway in March. He added two more wins during the first part of the regular season, securing his playoff berth. Despite some early postseason challenges, Larson and the Cliff Daniels-led team bounced back by scoring top-seven finishes in five of the six races leading to the Phoenix decider, ultimately earning Larson the Bill France Cup.
Hendrick Motorsports extended its lead in the NASCAR Cup Series with its 15th driver championship, all won alongside Chevrolet. Notably, five drivers have helped bring these titles to the organization: Jimmie Johnson (seven championships), Jeff Gordon (four), Kyle Larson (two), Terry Labonte (one), and Chase Elliott (one).
Looking Ahead in NASCAR
The conclusion of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series sets the stage for upcoming competition. Racing will resume with the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium on February 1, 2026, as teams and fans prepare for another season. Chevrolet’s championship sweep this year energizes the brand’s pursuit of ongoing success and underscores its position as a powerful presence in NASCAR’s elite racing landscape.
