JR Motorsports has confirmed that it will attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500 in 2026, once again with veteran driver Justin Allgaier, marking their second straight effort in this iconic race. The team’s campaign will feature the No. 40 car, maintaining its partnership with sponsor Traveller Whiskey, as the focus centers on the Justin Allgaier Daytona 500 2026 entry.
JR Motorsports shared its intent on Friday, November 14, further building on their momentum from last season.
Allgaier’s Experience and Team Achievements
Justin Allgaier, known for his accomplishments as a former NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series champion, brings a strong resume with 28 victories from 504 series starts to the track. His extensive background in the NASCAR Cup Series includes participation in 83 races so far.
Last season, Allgaier drove JRM to its inaugural Daytona 500 appearance, where he achieved a ninth-place finish—an important milestone for both driver and team. The season also saw JR Motorsports notch its 100th O’Reilly Auto Parts Series win, with three of four team drivers reaching the Championship 4 at Phoenix.
Looking Ahead to the 2026 Race
The team’s goal for 2026 is to earn only its second-ever Cup Series start at the Daytona 500, known as the Great American Race, which takes place each February. This effort underscores JRM’s ongoing commitment to expanding its presence in high-profile NASCAR events and furthering its competitive record.
