Niece Motorsports NASCAR Truck Series will welcome back Ross Chastain for eight races in 2026, following changes to NASCAR’s participation rules announced for the upcoming season. Chastain, a regular competitor in the NASCAR Cup Series with Trackhouse Racing, will compete in select events at various locations as part of an expanded agreement with the team.
NASCAR Adjusts Participation Limits, Chastain Returns to Niece Motorsports
This year, NASCAR has updated its regulations, allowing Cup Series drivers with over three years of full-time experience to enter up to ten NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series events and eight races in the NASCAR Truck Series—significantly increasing their opportunities to race from the previous five-event cap. Taking advantage of these revised limitations, Chastain will once again drive the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Niece Motorsports in the Truck Series.
The arrangement was officially announced by Niece Motorsports on Friday, welcoming Chastain back in a more substantial role. The team, based out of Salisbury, will benefit from his experience as the Florida-native joins their lineup for a ninth year.
Chastain and Niece Excited for Expanded Partnership
“It’s great to be back with Niece Motorsports in a larger capacity this year,”
said Chastain, expressing excitement over the renewed collaboration.
“When I heard about the rule change, I knew we had to run more races together. We’ve got a great core group of people here in Salisbury, and I want to bring them all back to victory lane. I’m thankful to have the opportunity and appreciate the ownership group and our partners for making it happen, along with everyone at Trackhouse for allowing me to run in the Truck Series.”

The schedule for Chastain’s Truck Series appearances has yet to be finalized and will be released as the season unfolds. He will not be the sole driver of the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado, sharing the role with Landen Lewis and an additional driver who is still to be announced. This approach allows Niece Motorsports to leverage multiple talents throughout the season.

Team Leadership and Valuable Experience for Young Drivers
“We’re thrilled to have Ross (Chastain) in our trucks for more races this year,”
said Cody Efaw, CEO of Niece Motorsports.
“Ross has been a huge part of our team since he first joined us, and his input is invaluable. Considering the young group of drivers we have in the fold this year, Ross will be a tremendous asset for those guys to learn from. We look forward to having him contend for wins each time he straps into the No. 45 truck this year.”

Chastain stands as the most successful driver in Niece Motorsports’ history, having led the team to Victory Lane five times, including their inaugural win at Kansas Speedway in 2019. His extensive experience is poised to benefit a youthful group of drivers at Niece, setting a strong example while coaching them through high-pressure situations.
Looking Ahead: Leadership and Legacy
Phil Gould, the crew chief who was instrumental in Chastain’s first Truck Series victory for Niece, will return to manage the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado RST. The pairing of Gould’s tactical guidance and Chastain’s seasoned driving ensures Niece Motorsports enters the season with an experienced, competitive edge. Fans and team members alike eagerly anticipate the upcoming schedule, hoping Chastain will once again deliver winning performances for the group.
These changes in the NASCAR rules and Chastain’s increased participation highlight an optimistic future for Niece Motorsports NASCAR Truck Series campaigns. With a blend of veteran skill and emerging talent, the team is well-positioned to chase further victories as the 2026 season unfolds.
