Corey LaJoie Speedway Saga: No. 7 Chevrolet’s Dominant Force in 2024

Corey LaJoie Speedway Saga: The much-anticipated news came out on Tuesday that Carson Hocevar would drive the No. 77 Chevrolet for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. The announcement came from Spire Motorsports and host Carson Hocevar. Since Ty Dillon only held the prized position for one year, he has had to adjust quickly to this change.

With this news, Spire Motorsports will have three full-time drivers instead of two, a massive increase from their current two-driver setup.

Corey LaJoie, an experienced challenger, will be the full-time driver of the No. 7 Chevrolet for the third season. This makes him a mainstay on the Spire Motorsports lineup. Zane Smith, a great driver on loan from the Trackhouse Racing Team, is planning to drive a third car, making things even more exciting at Spire Motorsports.

Spire Motorsports bought a third charter from Live Fast Motorsports to help this growth, making it possible for the Trackhouse Racing Team and Zane Smith to work together, which looks like a good match.

Ty Dillon, 31 years old and from Welcome, North Carolina, remembers the 2023 season very well. Since the rough weather of 2020, Dillon last had a steady ride for the past four seasons. After their charter was sold to the less experienced 23XI Racing team, Dillon’s long-running Germain Racing finally shut down. It’s funny that Dillon became 23XI Racing’s first driver when Bubba Wallace was found not eligible for the preseason Clash. After that, Dillon took a part-time job with Gaunt Brothers Racing, but the team would not be around after the 2021 season.

In 2022, Dillon joined Petty GMS Motorsports with plans to drive full-time for GMS Racing’s first Cup Series race. But Petty GMS Motorsports, now called Legacy Motor Club, was made when Richard Petty Motorsports merged with it. The team’s unexpected competitiveness was brutal because Dillon couldn’t take the momentum. One of his peers, Erik Jones, did better than him in all the essential statistical areas. In light of this, it was decided to give young star Noah Gragson the No. 42 Chevrolet for the 2023 season.

Corey LaJoie Speedway Saga

Once again, this year, Dillon did not live up to the bar his teammate Corey LaJoie set. The official news that Dillon was leaving Spire Motorsports did not come as a surprise; the signs were already there. Following much suspense, the expected result finally came true, ending Dillon’s job with Spire Motorsports.
