Spire Motorsports is gearing up for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season finale at Phoenix Raceway with an additional entry, the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado. The team recently announced that Derek Kraus, a talented 22-year-old driver, will be behind the wheel for the Lucas Oil 150, and the No. 77 truck will proudly feature primary sponsorship from Western States Flooring.
Expressing his anticipation for the race, Kraus stated, Im really looking forward to racing at Phoenix with Spire Motorsports and all the guys on that team. Phoenix Raceway is one of my favorite races on the schedule just because of how competitive the track is. Im thankful to have Western States Flooring on board and looking forward to putting on a good show for that group. We had a good day at Milwaukee earlier this season, so hopefully, we can pull some notes from that weekend and put them to good use in Phoenix.
Kraus previously collaborated with Spire Motorsports in an impressive eighth-place finish at the Milwaukee Mile, showcasing his skill on the track. The team is excited to have him back and believes in his ability to make a significant impact. Team manager Mike Greci expressed his confidence, stating, Hes incredibly mature for his age and has a knack for getting the most out of his equipment.
With a technical alliance with JR Motorsports, Spire Motorsports has Andrew Overstreet as the crew chief and Mike Hoffman as the truck chief for the No. 77 entry at Phoenix. In his 75 career starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Kraus has achieved four top-five finishes and 27 top-10s, demonstrating his consistency and competitiveness. Additionally, Kraus has made seven starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Kaulig Racing this season, securing three top-10 finishes in the process.
Fans can eagerly anticipate another strong performance from Kraus as he takes on the challenges of Phoenix Raceway in the Spire truck. Stay tuned for an action-packed race weekend.
