NASCAR Truck Series Finale: Spire Motorsports’ Spectacular Phoenix Sendoff!

NASCAR Truck Series Finale: Spire Motorsports is gearing up for an exciting NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) finale at Phoenix Raceway as they announce their second entry for the Lucas Oil 150. Derek Kraus, a talented driver from Wisconsin, will be taking thewheel of the No. 77 Western States Flooring Chevrolet Silverado alongside teammate Marco Andretti, who will be piloting the No. 7 Parity Week by Gainbridge® Chevy. This dynamic duo is set to make waves in the division’s last race of the season.

In a strategic move, Spire Motorsports has enlisted the expertise of Andrew Overstreet and Mike Hoffman from JR Motorsports to serve as crew chief and truck chief, respectively, strengthening their technical support partnership.

Kraus has already showcased his prowess earlier this season while driving for Spire Motorsports at the Clean Harbors 175 at Milwaukee Mile. Despite starting deep in the field, he impressed everyone by racing his way to an impressive eighth-place finish. With 75 NCTS starts under his belt, including four poles, four top-five, and 27 top-10 finishes, Kraus brings a wealth of experience and determination to the track.

“. We had a strong performance in Milwaukee earlier this season, so I’m optimistic about our chances in Phoenix.”

Phoenix Raceway, with its unique one-mile configuration, has been a challenging yet rewarding track for Kraus. In his five previous NCTS starts at the Avondale, Arizona oval, he has secured three eighth-place finishes and finished 23rd in the other two races.

Kraus, hailing from Stratford, Wis., has also made a mark in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this year, making seven starts for Kaulig Racing and achieving three top-10 finishes. His consistency and skill behind the wheel make him a valuable asset to the Spire Motorsports team.

Team manager Mike Greci expressed his enthusiasm about having Kraus back in a Spire Motorsports Chevy Silverado. “Derek did a fantastic job when he drove for us in Milwaukee, and we believe his success will carry over to Phoenix,” said Greci. “His maturity and ability to maximize his equipment are impressive. Partnering him with Marco Andretti will enhance both our trucks’ chances of success. We’re looking forward to a strong performance from our team.”
