Chevrolet Hat-Trick: 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Triumph

Chevrolet Hat-Trick: Chevrolet secures the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Championship as the green flag falls at Martinsville Speedway‘s Round of Eight in October. It’s a monumental third consecutive win and the 42nd time overall for Chevy in NASCAR’s top-tier series.

The brand’s inaugural manufacturer championship in the NASCAR Cup Series dates back to 1958, followed by a staggering streak of 13 titles between 2003 and 2015. With 42 NASCAR Cup Series manufacturer championships, Chevrolet proudly boasts 851 victories and 33 driver championships, continuing its reign as NASCAR’s most successful manufacturer.

Chevrolet wraps up a stellar year across NASCAR’s ranks, clinching its 11th NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Manufacturer Championship and 25th Bill France Performance Cup in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway. It’s the fifth time Chevrolet has swept the manufacturer championship titles across all three NASCAR national series, previously achieving this feat in 2012, 2005, 1998, and 1996.

Jim Campbell, GM’s U.S. vice president of Performance and Motorsports, humbly expressed, ‘Chevrolet is honored to claim the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Manufacturer Championship for the third year running and the 42nd time overall. It’s a testament to the incredible teamwork among Chevrolet drivers, crew chiefs, and teams throughout the entire season.’

The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season ignited with the Camaro ZL1 bagging four consecutive victories—a feat unseen since 2001. Among five different Chevrolet teams, seven drivers secured a combined 18 wins in 35 races. Notable names like William Byron with six wins, Kyle Larson with four, and Kyle Busch with three, alongside others like Ross Chastain, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., AJ Allmendinger, and Shane van Gisbergen, each contributed to Chevy’s success. Not to forget Corey LaJoie, Austin Dillon, Chase Elliott, and Erik Jones, all pivotal in accumulating the points that led to this championship title.

Megan Brobeck, GM Racing’s program manager for the NASCAR Cup Series, proudly stated, ‘Securing the Manufacturer Championship in the NASCAR Cup Series is an outstanding achievement. It’s a testament to Chevrolet’s teams and engineers whose dedication and collaboration culminated in this well-deserved honor. Kudos to all involved for this remarkable accomplishment.
