Spire Motorsports Brings Back Mosack for NASCAR Truck Series 2026

Spire Motorsports has announced that Connor Mosack will rejoin the team for the NASCAR Truck Series 2026 season, competing in twelve races in the No. 7 Chevrolet. The North Carolinian, who raced full-time last year with McAnally–Hilgemann Racing, will share the seat with part-time driver Michael McDowell, who is slated for his fifth Truck Series start at the Daytona event.

Mosack’s Recent Racing Experience and Team Developments

Last season, Mosack piloted the No. 81 Chevrolet and achieved four top-10 finishes and eleven top-20 results for McAnally–Hilgemann Racing before the seat was filled by Kris Wright. His return to Spire marks his second tenure with the organization; during 2024, Mosack raced in six events for Spire, finishing in the top 10 three times and notably securing a third-place at Homestead-Miami Speedway—the same track that will conclude his 2026 Truck Series run.

McDowell’s involvement as a part-time driver is part of Spire’s evolving lineup ambitions for the season. The schedule will see Mosack opening his campaign at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, continuing through key venues, and wrapping up in Florida at Homestead-Miami Speedway. These strategic race selections reflect Spire’s objective to remain competitive and diversify its driver lineup.

Sponsorship and Charitable Focus: Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Collaboration

The 2026 campaign also has a unique philanthropic element, with The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation returning as the primary sponsor of Mosack’s No. 7 truck. The livery will feature an attention-grabbing palette of bright blue, yellow, pink, black, and white. This partnership is deeply personal to Mosack, who has a longstanding commitment to the foundation’s mission.

“I’m eager to return to Spire Motorsports in 2026,”

Mosack expressed in his official statement.

“I enjoyed my time with the team two years ago, and I’m looking forward to working with Brian [Pattie] and the No. 7 team again.”

Mosack emphasized his connection with The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, stating,

“Representing Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a responsibility that’s important to me. I was introduced to the founder, Denis Murphy, several years ago, and was really moved by his story and mission.”

He further discussed his direct involvement:

“I’ve been a part of the Adopt-A-Child program in the past and worked with two young boys, both who were battling pediatric cancer, and their families. To witness, those challenges, firsthand was very impactful. Raising awareness for what FOJ is doing is important to me.”

The collaboration has also drawn praise from the foundation, with founder Denis Murphy acknowledging the team’s efforts:

“By putting Friends of Jaclyn on Connor’s truck, suit, and helmet, they helped turn racing into a source of love, connection, and belonging for children battling pediatric cancer and disease. Connor leads with authenticity and heart, and Spire has created the space for him to do it. That kind of leadership has changed many children’s lives battling the beast.”

Future Prospects and Wider Racing Activity

It remains uncertain if Mosack will complement his Truck Series workload with an additional schedule in the newly renamed O’Reilly’s Auto Parts Series. In the previous year, he took part in six late-season events with teams like SS-Green Light Racing, JR Motorsports, and Viking Motorsports, achieving his best showing with a fifth-place finish at Charlotte’s Roval for JR Motorsports. With aspirations of claiming his first national series victory, Mosack is poised to build on experience gathered since his debut in the Truck and O’Reilly’s Series in 2022.

Significance for Spire Motorsports and the NASCAR Truck Series 2026 Campaign

For Spire Motorsports, securing a dual-driver approach in the No. 7 truck with Mosack and McDowell signifies an intent to blend youth, experience, and off-track leadership. Backed by The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, Mosack’s campaign underscores the growing presence of charitable partnerships within NASCAR, highlighting the sport’s capacity to support important causes while remaining fiercely competitive. As the 2026 season approaches, anticipation is high for both on-track results and the broader impact Mosack and Spire can achieve within the NASCAR Truck Series 2026.
