Anthony James Allmendinger, known as “the Dinger,” was born on December 16, 1981, in Santa Clara, California. He grew up in Los Gatos, a suburb of the San Francisco Bay area. By eight, he transitioned to quarter-midgets, and soon after, he was racing karts, where he achieved significant success, winning two International Kart Federation Grand National championships.
