Austin Cindric

Austin Cindric is a professional driver competing full-time in the NASCAR cup series driving the No.2 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Team Penske. Apart from NASCAR he has also competed in Road to Indy Ladder, and the Global RallyCross Championship.

PERSONAL LIFE 

Born on 2nd September, 1998 in Columbus Ohio, U.S. He is the son of former professional driver Tim Cindric. He has a rich family legacy deep-rooted in the racing universe, with his grandfather being the owner of IndyCar team and Red Roof Inn founder, Jim Trueman. He completed his graduation from Cannon School on May, 18,2017 before he started competing in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN truck series.

CAREER AND SUCCESS

Austin Cindric started his racing career in North Carolina, competing in legends cars and Bandolero racing. He moved up to the USF2000 National Championship in 2013 and 2014, finishing seventeenth and fourteenth respectively, first with Andretti Autosport and then with Pabst Racing Services. He also raced in Historic Sports Car Racing and secured a win driving a Porsche 944.

Austin Cindric has participated in 79 NASCAR Cup Series races over three years, driving the No. 2 car for Team Penske. As of 2023, he ranked 24th overall with his best finish being 12th in 2022. Cindric made his Cup Series debut at the 2021 Daytona 500 and most recently raced in the 2024 GEICO 500 at Talladega. His career highlight in this series includes a win at the 2022 Daytona 500, alongside 16 top-ten finishes and one pole position.

Over five years, Cindric competed in 133 NASCAR Xfinity Series races. He finished 2nd in the standings in 2021, with his highest achievement being the 2020 series championship. His Xfinity career started at the 2017 Johnsonville 180 at Road America, concluding with the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race at Phoenix. Throughout his Xfinity career, he amassed 13 wins, 89 top-ten finishes, and 8 poles. Notably, his first win came at the 2019 Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen, and his last was at the 2021 Pennzoil 150 at the Indianapolis Grand Prix.

Cindric raced in 29 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events over three years. His best season was in 2017 when he finished 3rd in the standings. He debuted in this series at the 2015 Kroger 200 in Martinsville and ended his truck racing career at the 2017 Ford EcoBoost 200 in Homestead. During his time in the Truck Series, he secured one win at the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 250 in Mosport, along with 16 top-ten finishes and one pole.
