Florida’s Connection: Maggio, DGM Racing, and Daytona
Mason Maggio’s alignment with DGM Racing highlights a unique Florida synergy in NASCAR, as the 21-year-old brings local pride to the only full-time Florida-based team on the grid. Although the precise 2026 schedule for Maggio’s No. 91 entry remains unconfirmed, the Daytona season opener is of particular importance. Daytona International Speedway is just two hours from Maggio’s South Florida hometown and serves as the venue where his passion for motorsports first ignited as a child.
DGM Racing expressed enthusiasm over the arrangement and its significance for the team on social media:
“From Florida roots to the Florida team 🌴 We’re excited to have @MasonMaggio1 join the #DGMFamily for the 2026 season. Fittingly, his first race will be the season-opener at @DAYTONA just two hours from Mason’s hometown and DGM’s HQ!”
This debut marks an emotional milestone for Maggio, whose rise has caught the curiosity of many fans who await his journey with DGM Racing through the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
Charting Maggio’s Racing Background and Path to NASCAR
Born on July 7, 2004, Mason Maggio discovered auto racing alongside friends during his teenage years, sparking his initial interest in karting. He quickly advanced in Bandolero competition, securing 11 race wins and three championships in the 2018-19 season, ultimately placing third nationally. His progress continued in Legend Cars, where he captured eight victories and another trio of titles.

Additionally, 2021 saw Maggio take on Limited Late Models, where he notched four wins and secured third place in the Paramount Kia Big 10 Challenge standings, before trying his skills in Pro Late Models and gaining valuable ARCA testing miles. This gradual ascent has positioned him for his current opportunity in NASCAR. DGM Racing’s owner, Mario Gosselin, highlighted the qualities that made Maggio an appealing addition to the team.
“Mason is a young, eager driver who isn’t afraid to put in the work to grow on and off track,” Gosselin said in a team release. “His demeanor and professionalism at such a young age are refreshing, and I am impressed with his work ethic and willingness to learn.”
Maggio has also quietly accumulated experience at the national level. Over the past several seasons, he appeared in 27 Truck Series races, including six in the latest season—five for Reaume Bros Racing and one for Hettinger Racing. In the Xfinity Series, now known under the O’Reilly title, he made 10 starts in 2025 piloting cars for Joey Gase Motorsports, as well as single-race efforts with MBM Motorsports and DGM Racing. His standout qualifying performance came with DGM at Talladega, lining up 19th, and he scored his best finish—15th—at Daytona with Joey Gase Motorsports during the fall event.
Although the full extent of Maggio’s 2026 race schedule with DGM Racing remains to be revealed, his Daytona debut serves as a significant chapter for both the driver and team.
DGM Racing Reshapes Roster as Maggio Steps In
Mason Maggio’s confirmation arrives during an active period of change for DGM Racing ahead of the 2026 season. Following the recent departures of Ryan Ellis and Josh Bilicki, the team extended a multi-year full-time deal to Josh Williams, with Ellis shifting to Young Motorsports and Bilicki departing for SS GreenLight Racing. Maggio now becomes the first driver locked in for the No. 91 entry for 2026, a car that saw eight different pilots throughout the 2025 Xfinity campaign. His addition brings both local representation and youthful potential to a team in transition.
Maggio shared his thoughts and gratitude in a press release:
“I’m super excited and thankful for the opportunity to be driving for DGM Racing in 2026,” Maggio added in the press release. “It is really cool to be able to have the Florida driver work with the Florida team on a regular basis next year. A huge thanks to the entire team, my family, partners, & fans for their support and making this possible. I’m really looking forward to a great season in the inaugural NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.”
With the addition of Maggio and the commitment of Williams, DGM Racing is shaping its squad for the upcoming season, blending established experience with the excitement of an emerging Florida homegrown talent set to begin his next chapter at the storied Daytona International Speedway.
Mason Maggio DGM Racing 2026 efforts now signal a period of optimism and ambition for both driver and team, as they look to make a memorable mark in the newly minted NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series—particularly on home turf and with the promise of new beginnings for fans and racers alike.
